Birded this afternoon an undeveloped(Stearns)county park guessing~60acres on CR10 halfway between Albany and CR17 out of Holdingford, just S of the Lake Wobegon Trail crossing. The acreage borders the SW corner of Two River Lake. Here, a juvenile Red-Headed Woodpecker, and soon after found a parent calling about my presence. Look along the south line where the widely scatterd bur oak and other dead-topped trees are found. The lowland creek below the farm has much dead-topped Green Ash and spaced tree habitat typical for these birds. Two River Lake had a Caspian Tern, along with eagles, loons, and DC Cormorants. Others include Blackburnian, Tennessee, Redstart, REVireo, GCFlycatcher, EPhoebe....Albany Sewage Ponds at high water, but a funny Yellow Warbler was there on the fenceline feeding on insects w/ the Cedar Waxwings. mjb
