This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, November 29th, sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

On November 22nd, there was a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE in the Municipal Campground in Grand Marais, Cook County.

A VARIED THRUSH appeared in Cass County on the 27th, and was still present the following day. The location is five and a half miles north of Motley at 10655 state highway 64.

On the 25th, a CAROLINA WREN was seen briefly at the feeding station of Tom Thomsen in Stillwater, Washington County.

Two SNOWY OWLS were in Duluth on the 24th; one was on a railroad car across Garfield Avenue from the "Bend-Tech" sign, and the other was on the ground near the harbor at the port terminal. Gordy Kuehne found a Snowy Owl about 1.5 miles east of Rose Creek on highway 56 in Mower County. It was sitting in a field on the north side of the road on November 27th. Another Snowy Owl was near the visitor's center at Aggasiz National Wildlife Refuge in Marshall County on the 21st. In Boyd, Lac Qui Parle County, a Snowy Owl was seen on the 10th, three miles north and two miles west of town.

A NORTHERN HAWK OWL was seen on the 21st in Roseau County along state highway 310 just south of the Canadian border.

The adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen again on Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis on November 26th. There were also at least two adult THAYER'S GULLS in the area.

That pair of TUFTED TITMICE is still visiting the feeder of Joyce Goodson about five miles southeast of North Branch in Chisago County. They were seen as recently as November 25th.
