This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, June 14th, sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

Two YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS are being seen at Acacia Park Cemetery in Mendota Heights, Dakota County. This small cemetery is northeast of Gun Club Lake just off state highway 13. Check especially near the flagpole bench on the north side of the parking lot. Because nesting may be a possibility here, birders are asked to refrain from using tapes to locate these birds.

A EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE was found in Caledonia, Houston County on the 9th. It was seen on the rooftop at 124 N. Pine St.

A YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT has returned to O.L. Kipp State Park in Winona County. It was found on the 13th by Chris Benson. Where the main road splits past the Kings Bluff Trail parking lot, take the trail that begins here east to the T. Take a right and walk about 50 yards.

On June 9th there was a SWAINSON'S HAWK near Wrenshall at the junction of Carlton County roads 1 and 4. This is appears to be first county record.

At least four LEAST BITTERNS were calling at the Old Cedar Avenue Bridge area of Bloomington, Hennepin County on June 10th. They were heard between the old bridge and the boardwalk.

Three SHORT-EARED OWLS were found June 9th at Agassiz National Wildlife Refuge in Marshall County. They were seen near the intersection of county roads 12 and 7. On the 6th, another Short-eared Owl was reported from the Sax-Zim bog area of St. Louis County, near the town of Meadowlands. It was in a field northeast of the junction of county roads 740 and 29.

As many as eight RED CROSSBILLS were seen by Bob Russell at St. John's University in Collegeville, Stearns County on the 7th. Check especially the conifers in front of Prep School.

A family of TRUMPETER SWANS can be seen on Grass Lake near the junction of Hennepin County roads 13 and 49. Two adults and six young were here on June 9th.

Also on the 9th, a PRAIRIE FALCON was spotted at the Rothsay Prairie area of Wilkin County. It was found in Tanberg Township about one mile east of the junction of county roads 15 and 176. Summer records of Prairie Falcon are quite rare in the state.

The KENTUCKY WARBLER is still at Nelson Fen southwest of Rochester in Olmsted County. Check the east side of the large cluster of aspen and buckthorn along the western edge of the fen.

And the WHITE-EYED VIREO can still be found at Rice Lake state park in Steele County. Look along the trail that begins south of the boat landing.

Thanks to Oscar Johnson, Don Wansura, and especially Joel Dunnette.

The next scheduled update of this tape is Thursday June 21st.
