A WHIMBREL and up to four HUDSONIAN GODWITS highlighted the shorebird action at the Hamden Slough National Wildlife Refuge near Audubon in Becker Co. on the 24th and 25th. Other shorebirds are still present, as is a PEREGRINE FALCON.

A pair of BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKERS and seveal EVENING GROSBEAKS were found along Bohall Trail at Itasca State Park on 5/20 by participants of the Detroit Lakes birding festival.

CONNECTICUT WARBLERS were heard and seen along the Thompson Forest Road in the Beltrami Island State Forest on May 25th.

A MOURNING WARBLER was in the yard of Bill & Mary Wyatt near Detroit Lakes on 5/24.

A WESTERN GREBE was reported by Larry Hanson on a small lake south of Audubon, Becker Co. on the 25th.

Participants of the Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds recorded 178 species of birds during the weekend of May 19-21. For more detailed information, contact Betsy Beneke at the phone or e-mail address noted above.
