This is the Duluth Birding Report for Thursday, September 25th, 2008
sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

A ROCK WREN was found by Shawn Conrad on the 25th at the Grand Marais
municipal campground. It was seen on a large dirt pile near the yellow
maintenance garages.

At least three PARASITIC JAEGERS were seen on the weekend of the 20th at
Wisconsin Point, as well as a SABINES'S GULL, RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, and
a juvenile FRANKLIN’S GULL. Al Schirmacher reported a LITTLE GULL on the
20th at the 12th Street access on Park Point. Jan Green reported an
immature LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL on the 21st at the parking lot on the
north side of the Park Point recreational area. Kim Eckert found a
VESPER SPARROW on the 23rd on the bay side of Park Point at 13th Street.
A GREAT EGRET was reported over the weekend by several observers at the
40th Avenue West Erie Pier area in Duluth.

Kim Eckert found a group of seven ROSS'S GEESE on the 14th at the Two
Harbors golf course pond near the clubhouse at the 10th tee. Two
CACKLING GEESE were also seen here, and another was seen on the 21st at
the Two Harbors cemetery. A HARRIS’S SPARROW was seen on the 21st on 2nd
Avenue in downtown Two Harbors.

2nd.
