CBC RARE BIRD REPORTING
All too often, unusual sightings of birds on Minnesota CBCs are omitted from final reports because a description of the bird observed was incomplete. Documenting sightings can be a sensitive issue. Please know that by requiring written details for certain species observed in certain locations we are seeking to establish a reliable databse of observations that will stand the test of time; knowing that future ornithologists will appreciate our documenting efforts.

Below is a list of birds that occur on Minnesota CBCs that may require documentation. Please also note that any bird not appearing on a MOU CBC Report Form also requires documentation in order to included.

NOTE: Please report unusual CBC observations using the MOURC Rare Bird Documentation Form. Too often when the Audubon Rare Bird Reporting form is used,  a description of the bird is omitted as there is no room on the front of that form for including such information.
