STARTING A NEW CHRISTMAS BIRD
COUNT
Your
count can be recognized by Audubon as an "Official" CBC by
following the steps at the AUDUBON CBC Web Site.
If you
choose to have the count data submitted to the MOU only, or cannot get
your count registered in time to meet the Audubon guidelines, I encourage
you to continue with your count coordinating efforts by follow the
guidelines listed below. If you have any questions, or need
assistance, please contact the current MOU CBC Compiler.

NEW MINNESOTA
CBCs Your new Christmas Bird Count does not have to be recognized by
Audubon as an "official" count. Several Minnesota CBCs send count data
directly to the MOU. To do this, please follow the steps listed below.
- Contact the Current MOU CBC Coordinator to discuss in general your idea for a new
count.
- Once decided, send Roger
the name of your new count, along with the exact description of the
center point of your 15-mile diameter circle using landmarks such as
road intersections, addresses, or section corners; providing a detailed
map with the count circle drawn on it.
- Provide name(s) and
contact information for the count, and the intended date so that this
information can be made available to potential CBC participants.
- Once established,
Roger will contact you on the process for submitting CBC results.
